LifeLine Series — Step 1: Grab On (When Life Feels Overwhelming and Out of Control)

You’re Drowning

You’re drowning.

Not dramatically. Not metaphorically. Actually drowning.

That moment when the ground disappears under your feet. Your toes searching for something that isn’t there. The water rising faster than you can think.

You’re not weak. You’re not failing.

You’ve just been carrying too much for too long.

And now… there’s nothing left to stand on.

What’s Really Going On

For a long time, your life had structure — even if it was hard.

You knew what needed to be done. You knew who needed you. You knew where your time and energy went.

And then one day… that role changed.

And no one handed you a new way to live.

So now you’re here — still moving, still doing, but without anything solid underneath it.

That’s why it feels like this.

Not because you can’t handle life.

Because no one ever showed you how to build one that’s yours.

A Note Before We Go Any Further

There are two things I want you to know.

First — I’m not a medical professional. If you’re struggling with your mental or physical health, please reach out to someone who can support you in that way.

What I can do is walk with you. Step by step.

Second — when I say “I’ve got you,” I mean it.

But this isn’t about me fixing anything for you. This is about you learning how to grab onto something steady again — and realizing you don’t have to do it alone.

I want to meet you exactly where you are. Not where you think you should be. Not where you used to be. Just… where you are right now.

Your Practice for Today: The Brain Dump

We’re not fixing your life today.

We’re not making plans. We’re not organizing anything.

We’re just going to grab on.

Take a piece of paper.

Write down everything that’s in your head. Everything you’re carrying. Everything that keeps circling.

Don’t sort it. Don’t clean it up. Don’t make it make sense.

Just get it out.

That’s it.

When You’ve Done That

Once your head is on paper, you’ll be able to see something you couldn’t see before: where you actually are.

I created something simple to help you do that.

The LifeLine Starting Point Assessment walks you through what’s going on mentally, physically, and with your direction — so you’re not guessing anymore. It’s your starting point. Everything else builds from here.

I’ve got you. One step at a time.

Don’t throw this away. Put it somewhere you’ll find it again — a drawer, a folder, under a magnet. We’re coming back to this page.
